Let’s Grow Sustainably

Science on the Fly has grown far faster than we ever imagined was possible. We’re now sampling over 340 sites across the US and internationally with over 100 volunteers in just over two years. This remarkable growth is a testament to the power of our mission, the dedication of our volunteers, and the generosity of our donors!

We need your help to continue to grow sustainably. The science we conduct and the stories we tell cost money. Money that we believe is well worth the cost. Though we run a lean and efficient organization, sustaining this remarkable level of sampling takes substantial funding. It costs us about $360,000 per year. Each water sample, including the cost of materials, analyzing the samples, and shipping, costs $100.

To raise the funds to cover our costs, we are beyond excited to kick off our
online auction! Starting today through December 1st, 2021, we have an incredible selection of donated auction items that you can bid on. Ranging from our generous donors such as Alpacka Rafts to Mangiafico Knives to Fishpond gear to Sage Fly Rods and fishing trips, we have a great selection for every outdoor enthusiast out there.

Every dollar donated during this fundraiser will go directly back into our citizen scientist program so that we can continue to consistently sample at each of our sampling locations for years to come. With your donations, you can help us achieve our goal of $25,000 for our fall fundraiser and allow us to continue telling the story of our rivers. You can check out our
online auction here.

Thank you for supporting our mission for healthy rivers - we could not tell these stories without you.
